The Bright Futures Education Trustees shares the Government’s determination to raise levels of pupil attendance and achievement in order to ensure the best possible start in life for our children. The Bright Futures Education Trust does not tolerate poor levels of school attendance.

As you know school, with the full support of the Governing Body, will not authorise any leave of absence for holidays taken during term time.  This means that if you do choose to take your child/ren out of school for a holiday during term time they will be marked as absent without permission for the duration of their absence. Leave of absence must be requested in writing from Mr Mellen, Principal prior to making your holiday arrangements.

From the 1st of September 2013 the Government made amendments to The Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 regulations removing references to family holiday and extended leave as well as the statutory threshold of ten school days. The amendments make clear that Head teachers and Principals may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. Penalty notices will be issued for unauthorised absences from Gorton Mount Primary Academy.

Manchester City Council School Admissions manages the admissions to our school (except in Nursery).

Manchester determine which children are offered a place at Gorton Mount Primary Academy based upon their Admissions Criteria.

At Gorton Mount Primary we have a Published Admissions Number of 90 pupils per year group.

Reception Admission September 2016

Applications for Reception places for September 2016, application forms will be sent to you in the post from Manchester School Admissions in September 2015 or apply on line here

The closing date for Primary Admissions is 5pm on Friday 15 January 2016. You will receive you offer letters on 15 April 2016.

Secondary School Admissions September 2016

Manchester School Admission manage the Admissions process for entrance to secondary school on-line. There are also paper copies of the admissions forms sent to Year 5 pupils at the end of the summer term of Year 5. These are sent directly to the home address, not to school. Please contact the Admissions Team on 0161 245 7166 if you need help completing the forms on-line or paper.

The application date for Y7 admissions for September 2016 is now closed. If you have not applied you need to contact School Admissions on 0161 245 7166 as soon as possible or click here to make a late application.
