Year 1 have been on an exciting trip to Delamere Forest. The trip was linked to their topic work and also was to develop the children’s literacy skills. They took part in sensory activities linked to developing their vocabulary. The ‘Sensory Seekers’ activities allowed the children to explore and find objects in the forest. Some of the activities the children took part in were ‘Magic Mirrors’ and ‘Smelly Cocktails’. The children worked with a partner, were also blindfolded and had to describe trees that they came across in the forest. The children were given an egg box with adjectives and they had to find objects that matched the descriptive word. The children had loads of fun and even met the Gruffalo!
